Is podcasting the next great thing in engaging students?
A rural New Mexico high school is taking a new look at active learning strategies to engage students in the curriculum. Students were given Zunes, handheld media players, to watch videos, listen to recorded lectures, and share in each other's projects. Teachers were given a $400 bonus to create and identify downloadable digital lectures. Zunes are a product of Microsoft who, in exchange for the devices, will receive data on student achievement.
