Be a Part of the Global Conversation
The 2013 Whole Child Virtual Conference reached educators across the globe. Building on its success, the 2014 Whole Child Symposium is another great opportunity for you to interact with leading education thinkers.
Join ASCD for two free events in May: the Whole Child Symposium Live and the Whole Child Symposium Virtual, a series of discussions about effective education and education systems around the world.
- Mark your calendar on May 8 from 12:00–3:00 p.m. eastern time to watch the Whole Child Symposium Live stream online. This discussion, which delves into the symposium theme "Choosing Your Tomorrow Today," will feature ASCD CEO and Executive Director Dr. Gene R. Carter and a panel of education experts that include Andy Hargreaves, Charles Haynes, Karen Pittman, and Yong Zhao. Participants are encouraged to join the online dialogue via Twitter using the hashtag #WCSymposium2014 during the event.
If you are in the Washington, D.C., area and would like to attend the Live event at the Knight Studio at the Newseum, please RSVP immediately. Space is extremely limited.
- Register now for the Whole Child Symposium Virtual sessions on May 14 and 15. As an attendee, you will have the opportunity to watch and interact with four live panels featuring school leaders, policy experts, teachers, and students. These panelists will explore how today's decisions concerning education policy, schools, classroom instruction, and students will affect what children, societies, and economies need and how they will be shaped in the future.
Download and listen to the Whole Child Symposium Town Hall discussion, recorded at the ASCD Annual Conference and featuring panelists Steven Anderson, Goof Buijs, Liz Dwyer, Thomas Hoerr, Didier Jourdan, Chris Thinnes, and Sara Truebridge discussing what it means to be activists and advocates for education—both today and in the future.
