The Impact of ActionYou know what it looks like when it's working: schools coordinate with community partners; states develop and support policies that educate the whole child; teachers support student voice; administrators provide high-quality professional development in curriculum, instruction, and child development; and parents participate in the school community. And you know what it looks like when it's not working: narrow systems of accountability; low expectations for students; parents feeling unwelcome at school; and bored, fearful, hungry, and checked-out students. It's your stories that we tell to illustrate the local impact of policies and practices that work and those that don't. We use your stories everywhere from our work on Capitol Hill to grassroots community organizing to create the vision of what's possible when we educate the whole child and what's at stake when we do not. We use your stories to develop resources, services, and partnerships that support your work. To continue the progress we've made together to ensure each child is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged, we need to hear from you. » Tell us your stories today! We need to hear your experiences as an educator, parent, administrator, community member, or student with what works in schools and communities and what does not. With the school year behind us, now's the time to reflect on the successes and struggles of the past year. Use our convenient online form to share your story, and ask your friends and family to do the same. |
States in ActionYou, our whole child advocates, have sent over 800 letters to members of Congress in support of the Secondary School Education Innovation Fund Act! If you haven't sent letters to your senators and representative yet, it's not too late. Act now! This month, Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) signed on to cosponsor the bill, joining Arkansas senator Mark Pryor. Arkansas is also the first state to introduce the Whole Child Resolution in its state house. Tell your members of Congress to support innovative high school redesign today! » Expect More. Get More. |
