National School Climate Standards: Benchmarks to Promote Effective Teaching, Learning and Comprehensive School Improvement

The Center and the National School Climate Council developed School Climate
Standards to support schools, districts, and states in effectively aligning education
policy with practice. The school climate improvement model is designed to support
K-12 schools in actualizing these standards.  Over 20 national organizations –
including ASCD – have endorsed the Standards.

This assessment guide, or rubric, helps facilitate the implementation of these standards. The guide includes specific goals for each standard, indicators for measuring these goals, and examples for each indicator to show what good practice looks like at different levels of development.
